Meetup at the Pavilion (It is reserved for the day.)

We have reserved a pavilion at the Thompson Field Park.   The park is located along the Riverwalk Trail on the river bank, across from the back of the Main Street buildings.  The parking lot is large.  This is a great location to walk downtown, bike or walk the river trail from or just enjoy the river and its scenery.

The chairs need to know your intent ASAP, 3-4 days before picnic to purchase food.

COST AND PAYMENT:
Cost for all 3 summer picnics is $20.00. ( Sunday, July 21, Delta Mills Park and  Friday, August 23, Lake Lansing Park Band Shell)
Cost for a prepaid a picnic is $8.00.
Cost the day of the picnic is $10.00

  • Payments taken at the June 18, and July 16 General Meetings.
  • Make check payable to Jug and Mug Ski Club.
  • Checks can be sent to Gail Sleeman, 903 East Shaw St., Charlotte Mi 48813.  Let her know you are sending payment and date(s) attending.

 DRIVING DIRECTIONS From Lansing to the Thompson Field Park on the Riverwalk Trail:

  1. From Lansing, take I96 W to the 1st Portland/ Grand River Exit.
  2. Continue on E Grand River and follow until you come to the bridge crossing the Grand River. (Just after the stop lights on Grand River Dr & Main Street)
  3. Cross the bridge and immediately ……
  4. Take Canal Street, the 1st right (west side of the street) after crossing the bridge.
  5. Continue to other end of park and look for the only pavilion at this park.
  6. The drive is about 20 minutes from the west side of Lansing, I96.

PICNIC:  

Club will be providing meat, a side dish and a dessert. Please bring a dish to share with all.   Bring your own BYOB….or purchases can be made at the brewery across the street.  Ice cream is available, across the river/bridge to downtown.  Those attending should consider bringing a chair, outdoor games, bicycle and walking shoes.   If you wish to bicycle or walk, let chairs know.
